Meet Dr. Mike Gorman

Dr. Mike Gorman, DC, ATC, CSCS

Dr. Mike Gorman is a health and wellness expert, licensed Chiropractic Physician, Integrative and Functional Medicine Doctor, board-certified Professional Applied Kinesiologist, and stress and peak performance coach.  He is the owner and clinical director of Gorman Chiropractic & Holistic Health Center in Fairless Hills, PA, right outside of Philadelphia. He received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from the National University of Health Sciences, where he had additional training in primary care.  He did his undergraduate study in psychology at Shippensburg University and sports medicine at West Chester University. Before attending Chiropractic College, Dr. Gorman worked in physical therapy and sports medicine at Holy Redeemer Hospital and inVillanova University's Sports Medicine Department. While at Villanova, he worked with the football and cross country and track teams, including overseeing several All-Americans and future Olympians.  He also has had experience as an EMT and as a certified strength and conditioning specialist doing personal training.

The hallmark of his approach to healthcare is his unique ability to blend the best of both worlds of traditional and holistic medical perspectives into his current practice.  His primary diagnostic tool is an advanced specialty called Professional Applied Kinesiology (AK). The science of AK draws from many different therapies, including Chiropractic, osteopathic and traditional medicine, acupuncture, reflexology, clinical nutrition, psychology, and exercise rehabilitation. He treats the whole person by addressing the interplay between their physical, nutritional, and emotional health and other things that can interfere such as electromagnetic pollution, toxicity, allergies, and sensitivities. To aid in assessing various injuries and health conditions, AK uses muscle testing as a form of biofeedback. It helps to evaluate the brain and, in a sense, ask the body what is malfunctioning, what is being interfered with, and what it needs to repair and rebuild itself so it can heal and function optimally. This approach combines more traditional diagnostic measures such as history, exam, X-ray, MRI, CAT scan, blood work, and urine testing, with more integrative and functional lab testing for allergies, hormones, neurotransmitters, heavy metal toxicity, and genetic DNA testing.  Combining his psychology bachelor's degree with his board certification in Neuro-Emotional Technique (NET) and Thought Field Therapy (TFT) tapping, he can specifically address the now well-documented mind-body connection. He does this by coaching patients regarding their lifestyle and consulting with them to positively affect stress and anxiety levels, peak mental state, performance, chronic pain, and overall health and wellness.

Aside from his private practice, Dr. Gorman has been on the medical staff for 17 years at the prestigious and world-renowned Institutes for the Achievement of Human Potential. He consults to help evaluate and treat children with severe brain injuries, developmental delays, autism, vaccine injuries, and genetic and other neurological conditions. He routinely sees kids from the US, Japan, Italy, Russia, Mexico, Australia, India, etc. His role varies from seeing severe physical abnormalities and mobility issues to using neuro-biofeedback on the brain, doing functional medicine lab testing and detoxification, and consulting with kids with severe immune problems or seizures that will not resolve.  He received their most prominent "Statuette with Pedestal" award, which he shares with other doctors such as Dr. Seuss, Dr. Benjamin Spock, and Nobel Prize winners Dr. Jonas Salk and Dr. Linus Pauling.

He loves personal growth and development and is a graduate of the Bucks County Leadership program, Landmark Education's Leadership program, Anthony Robbins' Unleash the Power Within, and Dr. John Demartini's Breakthrough Experience. He is a VIP member of Front Row Dads, a Winner's Circle member of The Master's Circle Global, and a level 8 member and coach in The Global Information Network (GIN). He takes great pride in educating his patients daily and other doctors and the public through his many speaking engagements in the area. Aside from ongoing health and inspirational talks at his office, he has lectured at Thomas Jefferson University's School of Integrative Medicine, Aria Hospital, St. Mary's Hospital, NovaCare physical therapy, The Philly Fit Bash, The Lower Bucks Chamber of Commerce, The Pennsylvania Athletic Trainer's Society, Temple University and West Chester University's Sports Medicine departments, several massage schools, and the Lower Bucks YMCA. He has been a teaching assistant for many post-graduate courses in Chiropractic and Professional Applied Kinesiology. He has participated in a research study to further the scientific validity of Chiropractic. He has also served on the Board of Directors for the Lower Bucks Family YMCA.

Dr. Gorman has taken additional post-graduate coursework, including extensive hours of functional neurology, acupuncture, clinical nutrition, homeopathy, herbology, advanced sports medicine, psychology, pediatrics, TMJ & cranial techniques, cold laser therapy, Trigenics, and non-invasive allergy testing and treatments.  He has also taken various energy medicine techniques, including TBM (Total Body Modification), NMT (Neuro-Modulation Technique), Total Kinesiology (TK), Koren Specific Technique (KST), and all three levels of Reiki. In addition to taking over 1000 hours of Applied Kinesiology and Functional Medicine, he also is certified in Acupuncture and Meridian Therapy, Neuro-Emotional Technique (NET), Athletic Training (ATC), Strength and Conditioning (CSCS), Brimhall technique, Yoga, and as a Certifed Chiropractic Sports Physician (CCSP),. Because of his background’s complexity and diverse nature, his passion ranges from treating someone with severe pain, fatigue, or chronic, unresolved health conditions; To the average person who wants to decrease stress, lose weight, get off their medications, and improve their energy, brain, and health; to top business executives and entrepreneurs looking for the edge in goal-setting and performance; to the most elite professional athletes looking to prevent injuries and maximize their performance, endurance, and recovery.  When not practicing, writing, researching, speaking, teaching, or attending seminars himself, he enjoys yoga, running, sports, reading and listening to personal development, and having fun spending time with his family and friends.  The highlight of his life is his wife Kim and their three children: Abby, AJ, and Anthony.
